Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Hey, I'm John Mio
Your go-to photographer, hype person, hair fixer, and honorary family member.
I’m a big believer in capturing the magic of real moments — the love, the laughs, the tiny details you’ll want to remember forever.
Whether you’re walking down the aisle or wrangling toddlers in matching outfits, I’m right there with you (camera in hand, probably tearing up or making you laugh).
The moments that light me up
Weddings and families have my whole heart. I cry at every single wedding. Yep, every one. Watching the bride walk down the aisle, the groom trying to keep it together — it's just pure magic. I feel honoured every time someone trusts me to document that.
And when it comes to families? I love becoming part of yours. Some of my clients have been with me for years — I’ve watched their babies grow, gone from diapers to school photos, and honestly, it’s the most rewarding thing ever.
I'm not just your photographer.
I'm your storyteller for life.

Why photography?
Growing up, I didn’t have a ton of photos of myself — and that always stuck with me. As I got older, I picked up a camera and fell in love with capturing people as they are. I started out in beauty and fashion photography (thanks to my love for hair, makeup, and all things creative), Then came COVID… and I went full throttle.
I moved to The Garden House, and turned it into a place for families to come together and make memories!
It’s more than a backdrop — it’s an experience.
What it’s like to work with me
If you ask my clients, they’ll tell you I’m hilarious, a little wild, and super particular about flyaways. I’m that person who will fix your hair, pose and outfits before clicking the shutter.
Why? Because you deserve to look and feel amazing, and sometimes you need someone to tell you, “Hey, let’s fix that curl real quick.”
I’m a chameleon with kids (and adults too) — goofy one minute, calm the next. The vibe is always chill, fun, and full of laughter.
Most people say it feels like they’ve known me forever.
And honestly? That’s the goal!
